As a member of Santander’s retail banking division you’ll help serve Santander’s retail and small business customers as part of one of the top banks in the United States based on deposits. With principal presence in the northeast U.S., Santander’s retail division offers consumer and lending products to help our customers reach their financial goals. Santander currently serves nearly 2 million retail customers and 5.2% of the 2.7 million small businesses in the US footprint have a transactional account with Santander Bank.
Aligned with the Retail strategy, support the Retail Performance Management Operations Director in developing, implementing and managing the Network and Channels Incentive Program infra structure (analytical environment) with the appropriate processes and tools to allow the fulfillment and control of the Incentive Program, with the objective of facilitate the behavior changes required by the distribution channels to achieve the Retail goals and align compensation with the retail P&L.
Fulfills data requests to support analyses concerning the Incentive Program and Goal Allocation effectiveness and efficiency.
Identifies opportunities for process improvement, proposes and develops tools to advance automation.
Directs collaboration with downstream recipients of Retail Performance Management data to develop clear SLAs and assure that they are met.
Liaison with HR Compensation to coordinate the payout process.
Coordinates outside vendors and internal data suppliers making sure that clear SLAs are developed for the data elements incorporated into Retail Performance Management (Incentive Program and Goal Allocation) production systems.
Oversees quality assurance for the data incorporated into these systems.
Based on an approved methodology, responsible for the processes for the Network and Channels goal allocation.
Participates in the design, documentation, testing and regular production cycles needed to maintain and validate the database.
Analyzes the complexity of proposed changes and/or enhancements to Retail Performance Management systems infrastructure.
Consult with business partners to understand business objectives and collect requirements to develop appropriate reporting solutions and business analysis.
Create executive level presentations that are able to succinctly convey business trends and highlight insights to improve business performance.
Design, test and implement database processes and reports to monitor business performance against objectives.
Develop reports and dashboards with meaningful design and use features, including interactive filtering, sorting, and selection as well as various visualization techniques.
Ensure all reports and processes are documented and have adequate quality controls in place.
Based analysis with recommended options to drive and govern business decisions.
Provide timely and complete responses to reporting inquiries.
Support the reporting solutions by monitoring production reports, resolving issues and performing root cause analysis as needed.
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
5+ years experience in financial service organizations.
Experience developing reporting solutions and analysis using business intelligence tools.
Tableau experience a plus.
Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Proficient in SQL
Able to code stored procedures and optimize SQL code for performance.
5+ years of experience in business analysis, finance or strategic planning with demonstrated business acumen.
Able to thrive in a fast paced work environment, supporting multiple projects for various stakeholders with rapidly changing priorities.
Advanced capability developing front end solutions such as html portals to provide up to date information and allow simulations using pre defined rules.
Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and courage in their leadership style.,Exceptional problem solving, organizational and process improvement skills.Expert knowledge of bank systems, product types and processing. Strong ability to translate this knowledge into analytic modeling.
Hands on advanced capability with database structures, including cubes, queries, and data marts.
Expert in the use of Access and the use of VBA and SQL to design, create, maintain and troubleshoot applications layered on Microsoft Office suite.
In-depth understanding of data architecture and relational database design principles.
Knowledgeable in SQL and one or more SQL front ends likeKnowledge Share or SQL Server Management Studio.
Mastery of multiple procedural language(s); such as SAS.
Expert knowledge of database architecture, systems design and documentation.
Outstanding ability to build relationships and effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
Significant experience and proficiency in preparing and delivering written and verbal presentations to senior and executive management.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to develop solutions to complex challenges.
Superior communication skills - able to express facts and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing, interacting professionally, transparently and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Thorough knowledge of VBA coding, MS Office automation, SQL, Oracle, SAS, database design / ETL, gathering end user requirements, business requirement documentation and system documentation.
MBA a plus
