Responsible for developing a commercial strategy for EMEA and Asia with international prospects, customers & COIs. Client acquisition & origination supporting RMs managing referrals from other Santander geographies focusing on opportunities coming from Europe & Asia.

Work very closely to the ID teams in these regions to identify and execute international opportunities. Promote Santander’s international capabilities to Santander customers & prospects whenever they may require support in any of our markets abroad. The position will report to the International Desk Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Inbound business

  • Identity inbound business opportunities with US affiliates of SAN customers in Europe and Asia.

  • Responsible for growing revenues with clients and prospects in the US subsidiaries of European or Asian Corporations.

  • Manage referrals coming from SAN Europe and SAN Asia arranging first contacts in the US to understand client’s operations and overall financing / transactional needs.

  • Closely work with Relationship Managers at SBNA to effectively execute new business opportunities.

Outbound business:

  • Responsible for developing outbound business.

  • Promote Santander’s international capabilities to Santander customers & prospects whenever they may require support in any of our markets abroad.

  • Identity opportunities to work with US parent corporations that have presence in some of our SAN core markets in Europe/Asia.

Business development

  • Coordinate the communication with the International Desks located in Europe and Asia to develop cross-border campaigns and initiatives.

  • Coordinate and support specific projects focused on growing SBNA’s international client base particularly with relation to Europe and Asia (for example: US-UK corridor initiative)


  • Responsible for managing the relationship with international and strategic COIs established in the NY area.

  • Proactively collaborate with COIs to position Santander as an international bank participating in discussion panels, trade mission, forums etc.


  • Deliver ID advisory service and support to RMs from customers demanding international Desk services through visits/calls

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Professional Experience in banking / financial sector. 5-6 Years

  • Fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese

  • Ability to work effectively with other team members across the Bank at all levels

  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize several projects at a time

  • Excellent client calling skills and ability to negotiate and close deal / transactions; as well as Strong customer service skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills

  • Full understanding of banking products, as well as the typical needs of recently established US subsidiaries of foreign groups

  • Knowledge of products, regulatory requirements and policies and procedures

  • PC proficiency including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Understanding of banking practices in other countries, as well as Santander capabilities in different markets
