The Sr. Analyst, Middle Office Operations may serve as a lead for the day-to-day operations of a Middle Office support team, providing work direction and technical assistance on complex matters. Reviews data and assists in resolving escalated problems that may arise during the normal daily, weekly or monthly accounting and reporting. Investigates inquiries, the tracking of data and trades, as well as the maintenance of records.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides end-to-end trade flow support across all product channels

  • Works directly with loan operations to ensure loan documents are prepared in accordance with credit approval, loan documentation standers and regulatory requirements

  • Works directly with business development team to collect, review and distribute approved due diligence documents necessary for loan documentation preparation, funding and booking

  • Ensures appropriate fees and expenses are recorded accurately and notifies business development team of missing/incorrect items requiring action

  • Addresses ad-hoc queries from operations, technology and the front office

  • Ensures error reports comply with service level agreements before they are shared with Middle Office teams

  • Escalates external errors, correction of internal errors is at the discretion of the client

  • If exceptions are found, confirms that internal and client procedures were followed, processing was on time and in line with FCC regulations and no unnecessary steps were taken

  • May be responsible for specific supervisory review and approval actions

  • Prepares system-generated reports

  • Reviews for exceptions

  • May review work of junior team members

  • Sets standards for team's report output to be shared with client teams

  • Supports the achievement of team objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent field, or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience in accounting support or the mutual fund industry preferred

  • Commercial or specialty group middle-market relationship portfolio credit experience preferred

  • Team player who demonstrates strong work ethic and consistently demonstrates a high level of professionalism

  • Ability to quickly learn internal and common industry applications

  • Attention to detail with excellent written, verbal, and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of commercial or specialty group banking products, and the credit practices/operating risks associated with them

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of credit policy, compliance, and underwriting requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Internet technologies

  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to multi-task, and work towards tight deadlines

  • Knowledge of due diligence and risk management requirements
